Did you know that on average, most people occupying leadership roles are not receiving their first leadership development opportunities until they have already been leading others for about ten years or around age 42? Why is this strange? Because these same supervisors and managers take on their roles around age 30. This data comes from a 2012 article by Jack Zenger and it explains quite a bit about the behaviors of leaders. Since not much has changed in 10 years, it is past time to update the culture of leadership development. Emerging leaders are everywhere in an organization - at all levels and in all roles. How do you find them?
Whether you are an individual who would like to lead people in the future, or if you already leading a team and looking for opportunities to develop your members or identify future leaders, I hope you will join me for this engaging and interactive workshop. At the end of this session, whether your perspective is through the lens of individual or team leader, you will be able to:
•Define and identify characteristics of emerging leaders
•Determine how well you or someone you leads fits the emerging leader persona
•Brainstorm ideas for appropriate development opportunities
•Create an action plan for yourself or someone you lead to meet the goal of being a leader others will want to follow.
*This workshop is a free, no obligation introduction to a more in-depth development opportunity for emerging leaders that will begin on Thursday, September 9th and end on Thursday December 16th. Learn more about this unique opportunity here.
